Auro-Dapagliflozin/Metformin 5mg/1000mg combines two medications for the management of type 2 diabetes:

  • Dapagliflozin (5mg): An SGLT2 inhibitor that lowers blood glucose by preventing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, which increases glucose excretion in urine. It also has potential cardiovascular and kidney protective benefits.
  • Metformin (1000mg): A biguanide that improves insulin sensitivity and decreases glucose production in the liver, helping to lower blood sugar levels.

This combination works synergistically to control blood glucose levels more effectively than either medication alone.

The typical dosage is one tablet taken once or twice daily, with meals, to minimize gastrointestinal side effects. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal issues such as nausea, diarrhea, urinary tract infections, and increased urination. It is important to adhere to the prescribed dosage and consult with a healthcare provider for monitoring and managing any potential side effects or adjustments in therapy.
